Stumbled across this today…
First Peek: Down the rabbit hole with Tim Burton’s ‘Alice’
I know a lot of people are a little tired of Burton and Depp (and Carter for that matter) but I still love ‘em. More than that though, I am excited for other members of this cast. Alan Rickman, Anne Hathaway, Crispin Glover, Stephen Fry and Christopher Lee as “The Jabberwock”. This is some serious potential.
For once, perhaps a film that I wouldn’t mind seeing on opening weekend.
It does look good, what with ms. bonham and my favorite, mr. depp. But I suspect this is what is drawing you to opening night:
“As the tea-party throwing Mad Hatter, Depp has been given bulging yellow eyes.”
Am I right or what?
That would be Audrey’s favorite part… or at least her pictures would suggest that to be the case.
That is an all-star cast… except Hathaway does not seem like she belongs. Much like Katie Holmes in Batman Begins. We’ll see.
Thanks for the heads up. I still love Burton and Depp. Obviously Danny Elfman will be doing the music, which is also great.
I thought Hathaway was good in Get Smart, but the only one that has me interested is Steven Fry. But I’d be more interested if he was righting and not just acting. My opinion about Depp is that he’s only good at playing weird. In this case that’s probably 90% of the job.
I predict that opening weekend would be a mistake.
