I don’t really even like David Letterman that much.

I need to rephrase that though. I have absolutely no problem with people being upset at a tasteless joke (especially the Palins… it’s their daughter), I was specifically referring to the pundits that think it’s their job to make sure that Letterman is driven outta town.
I guess I’ve missed all of that. I love netflix. Although I know people who are convinced it is the left-wing media that is letting Letterman get away with it even though they’ve gone after all kinds of other individuals who’ve made insensitive remarks about public figures (which is, after all, what Ms. Pallin made her family when she decided to run for office even though she, the ultra-conservative, knew her daughter was about to become an obviously unwed mother–gasp! Not that she shouldn’t have run for office just to shield her family. I for one am glad she ran.) I do think though that the pundits who are complaining now are the same ones who have thought it acceptable to back other public persons who have made racists comments, and therefore, did not go after such racists’ heads/jobs. Seems to me that yes, Letterman made an insensitive, crude comment, but 1. Sarah put her family out there, and 2. Crude is not the same as racist.
I have to admit that I watch so little news/propaganda lately that I was surprised to see Ms P still on the tellie today continuing to yap about it all. Is that the definition of ’some people will do anything to get their faces on the tube?’
