I’m back
It’s been some 10 days since I last posted… I suppose I should get back on things.
Today was another one of those long days. Combined with yesterday, I’m just beat. It’s probably time that I can post it up here… anyone who reads my blog probably already knows about it… and to the ones that don’t, I apologize… I figured you knew.
I am in the process of getting on the liver transplant waiting list. It didn’t come as a surprise. Close to a decade ago my doctor explained that sometime in the next decade or two I would probably need a transplant… it was just a matter of time. Anyway… the time has come, I suppose. So for the last while I have been going through all the tests and screens and whatever to make sure that I am going to be a good candidate for a transplant. So far so good I suppose.
But I’m tired today. The last two days haven’t been exactly what I would call fun. A bone scan, a chest x-ray, ultrasound, echocardiogram, pulmonary tests, 19 vials of venal drawn blood, one vial of arterial drawn blood, a tb test, a candida test. Combine that with the full day of introductions to the “liver team”, a ct scan a couple weeks ago and the full dental screen tomorrow… I’m sick of being sick. I’m tired and stressed, and right now… I just hurt from being poked, prodded, and stabbed REPEATEDLY. I don’t sleep well, even on benadryl. It can just start to wear a guy out, ya know?
I suppose this is what a blog’s for… whining. I should do some more of it. I’m going to get back to watching the Sopranos now, I’m just starting season 5.
