No, dad
Tucking Audrey into bed last night, I was trying to convince her to put her princess jammies shirt on. She wanted nothing to do with it however. She would identify the princesses on the shirt though. I pointed to the first princess… Belle she shouts. The second one, Cinderella. Then I point to the last one. She thinks for a second and says Sleeping Booty.
I say to her… “Don’t you mean Aurora?” (referring to the princess’s actual name). She responds “No, Sleeping Booty”. Deciding to have a little fun I test her out and say “Eleanor?” (referring to the name we are leaning towards for our unborn at the moment). “No, Sleeping Booty!”. At this point she is starting to get emotional. It’s way past her bedtime, and dad is messing with the princess names. I think I see tears starting to well up.
I concede and say “Ok, Sleeping Beauty”. That about does her in. She starts crying and shouts, “No, Sleeping Booty”…
…
So, I don’t know what sort of cartoons Shi and her mom are letting my daughter watch during the day, but should I be worried?
